Caprice In Spring

The children read Bukowski before bedtime
And dream of cheap wine and women;
I myself am strange and unusual-
They are not my children
But they have long been wished upon me.

I was in love with a madman
Until he was well again.
I hear he's doing alright,
Enough money for the wife and the mistress-
But if we judge it's misandry.
Not that I care.

My friends and 'friends' alike tell me
I could have a terrible future in poetry,
I'm still not sure about it
One way or
Another;
Regardless I will write it all.

I guess he's not doing well enough for more than one wife and more than one mistress. :D
