Literature Text
In The Fall
Yes, yes,
We ran away into nowhere
Reading Bram Stoker to
Keep us awake at night;
There was blood-red underfoot
When we'd walk in the forest,
Talking about our children's names
Or if people actually ever grew up.
Yes, yes,
We fell in love so fast,
Our gold medals the leaves
That weren't vampiric delights
In their colouring.
There was only good music playing,
Only stars in the night sky,
Only our breathing to be heard.
Yes, yes,
We had the makings of perfection,
Until Dracula came in the night-
Turned you sour, turned you cold.
Spent too long running fast
In the Fall;
Ended up too soon in Winter.
Yes, yes,
We ran away into nowhere
Reading Bram Stoker to
Keep us awake at night;
There was blood-red underfoot
When we'd walk in the forest,
Talking about our children's names
Or if people actually ever grew up.
Yes, yes,
We fell in love so fast,
Our gold medals the leaves
That weren't vampiric delights
In their colouring.
There was only good music playing,
Only stars in the night sky,
Only our breathing to be heard.
Yes, yes,
We had the makings of perfection,
Until Dracula came in the night-
Turned you sour, turned you cold.
Spent too long running fast
In the Fall;
Ended up too soon in Winter.
